Yeah I remember this guy, he was the jerk who kept getting in your business. Even so, you made an agreement and you are bound to act in good faith and maintain the property, etc, etc.

Personally I would mow and clean and maintain the place. At least YOU'LL feel like you acted honorably and probably 'out-classed' this clown.

Really, I can't see it makes any difference. According to Rock, the buyer dosen't live in the area, so-after he hears The Rock is gone, he probably wont even be there.

With as fast as it's growing it won't take long to get pretty high...I'd probably mow every time it got up to 6 inches or so...I wouldn't knock myself out mowing, but I'd do a little for appearances.

Sounds like he's not the nicest person in the world. That doesn't mean you should be the same. Unless he's told you otherwise, continue to care for the property and get out ASAP.

If the buyer is already the legal owner, you are probably paying rent while you finish moving out. And if yes, I hope you have a lease? That should say whether you are responsible for yardwork. If you're just there, & not paying rent, I'd get to my lawyer for some sort of document. You don't want to be liable in case of fire, tornado, vandals, someone coming on the property and getting injured. When we bought our place, the previous owner wanted to rent for a few weeks while her new place was finished, but our lawyer & real estate guy both said not to agree. The previous owner left a piano & some little stuff. After 3 weeks, we had the lawyer send a letter to have it removed in a number of days, or it would be considered abandoned. When her father came to get the piano, he tried to claim dh's axe. Sue

when we sold the property next door to us we didn't mow or plow it any longer unless the new buyers asked for our help, even though they live 500 miles away, it would be trespassing for us to go over there and mow or anything, we don't own it
