I always get a bit of a kick out of the people that live a bit north of me saying they live in NW Ontario. When I look at the map, what would seem to be NW Ontario is hundreds of kilometers farther north and the folks just north of me are living in south western Ontario. LOL

I live in southwestern Alabama about 60 miles north of Mobile. There is a lot of ground between where I live and Mobile and it would be hard to find me. This is very rural country, just the way I like it.

LOL See different experiances.
Ive never seen that.
But I would like to know how you know whats going on in someone elses head?
Sometimes something a generic as which lightbulb should I buy could be location specific.
Perhaps the return poster knows that in certain areas brand X is or isnt available. Or that its called something different, or worse yet in one area whats called a X is really good but in another X means something else that is really bad?
I think as long as the location you give includes a 100,000 people your chances of being singled out are pretty slim.

Except for 3 years in Story County, Iowa, I have lived my entire life in the 309 area code of Illinois.

Most part there is no problem people knowing where I am because I always figure no one could find me anyway but did have one find me and stalk me.I did not thinking post exactly where our New Place is when another member brought it to my attention and I took it off.

I live in the most beautiful valley on Earth (my opinion of course), Oregon's Willamette Valley, and dingdang it's cold this morning.

We're about half way between Lansing and Ann Arbor as the crow flies, but I'm a displaced Brit from Bolton, Lancashire.

Ohio, says so in my profile. If I have a specific gardening or other location related question I'll provide the essential info in the post.

There are some people who I don't want to find out where I live. Don't know if they visit this board but it is open to the public.

West central Ohio here. I listed home as the Glorious Buckeye State, but I realize there are a few sad, ignorant folks who couldn't quite parse that out.

When I become Emperor of the Ohio Imperium-formerly the United States of America, Canada, Mexico, and the Islands of the Carribean (gotta have somewhere to go fishing) EVERYONE will know about Ohio.

I don't put anything more specific than Northeast Ohio in my profile. That's to discourage autograph seekers.

Just updated my profile to be more specific--North Central PA, rather than simply PA.

It's a lot different here than southern PA.

We're just south of Genesee.
