That certainly should be your right and I respect that.

But giving your home state hardly pinpoints where you live.

I think many here did not provide their location simply because they were not thinking when they registered... and not because they had objections to doing so.
Exactly. Especially when most people don't give their real names. If you have a username that is not your real name, how would anyone know where or how to find you without knowing your real name??

I see some people reply to questions with things like, "I can't give you an answer if I don't know where you are," on questions where the location has absolutely no bearing on the answer. That just seems demanding/nosey. But I frequently look at the locations of other people because it interests me. I don't have mine up there because I don't want to. But it's no secret, and if it's relevant to my posts, I will include it.

Mine is obvious in my signature, but NE central Alberta to be more specific, and the zones are 2, 3 or 4 - take your pick. There's little micro climates all over depending on how high up you are.
Alberta is a place where you can drive for hundreds of miles without seeing any big city lights.
Good luck for anyone finding me!

Southern tier NY with the end of my land on Pa border. But that really doesn't tell much of where I am at as the Southern tier is a big area. Closes town would be Binghamton in NY but really closer to Coconut Pa.

Not to hijack the thread, but I am curious as to how having children help raise animals for meat would in any way raise a flag to CPS.

2/3's of the country is either too wet or too dry. If you are lucky you have some of that "gravel" land as the Erie County residents call it. Back in the '80's I lived near Albion which was mostly clay but sometimes there was gravel which has nice drainage. I was there before the tornados of 85.

No doubt!! Snow yesterday and possibly again today and tomorrow. At least it's not sticking much.

Northernmost Central PA in farming country, on the NY border. Technically I live in a tiny town, but with 26 acres I can do whatever I want. Have fun trying to figure out which tiny town though, lol

Welcome Georgia Peasant

At first I didn't post my location because of privacy but over time I have relaxed. The more you post about things going on around you the more information people can get about where you live. If you post about a local school lockdown that hits the news it will narrow it down. If you post about some business in the area (not wal-mart) you can narrow it down for people. Sometimes things we post don't really mean anything until you add a state to the mix. All it takes is putting the pieces together.

In my heart, I'm running barefoot in the Indiana clay dust, bringing the cows in from the field at milking time and smelling the new-mown hay, but for now, I'm just geo in mi.

Hail Purdue!
