Mayhaw is by far my favorite!

My cousin makes and sells Red Hot Jelly and Mountain Dew jelly. I don't really care for it, but she always has a list of people that want it.

Oh how I wish we had a few growing down in our swampy woods!

A few of my favorites are strawberry rhubarb jam, and roasted garlic and onion jam, saskatoon jam and nanking cherry jelly. I preserved them in the 1/2 pint and 1/4 pints and gave them along with the jalepeno jelly and cookie mix in a jar for presents. Then there's apricot salsa - it's not a jam but a "different" taste

Pumpkin marmalade is great! I eat it on toast, meat and heat it up and pour over ice cream.

Ravenlost, mayhaw trees do well in warm areas. You could always order some trees and have them shipped to you to see if they'll grow in your area. I'm attempting the same with the paw paw seeds that I got last year.

I also suggest that you consider small jars of gourmet mustard. There are many delicious recipes and many you can't even purchase for any amount. You could offer mustard that couldn't be obtained anywhere else.

Ok I think everyone should go to the canning/preserving thread and post their recipes!
I'll do mine for both the fresh roasted garlic and onion jam and the preservable one if anyone is interested in them.

whee............thank you all so very much!

Wait til husband here's about the bacon jelly! wow!

Currently in the little store I have these jellies:

dandelion,
tomato,
pepper,
hot pepper,
pineapple,
yellow onion,
hot red onion,
blackberry,
blueberry,
and strawberry preserves.

We are currently sold out of:
honeysuckle jelly,
rose petal jelly,
apple butter, and pumpkin butter.

Ya'll have given me so very many many ideas! I will be researching, cooking, tasting, testing, and hopefully then selling even more kinds!

We've been selling Amish bacon and Amish sausage, and just this week got in Amish butter! Have been selling some great goat cheese and hopefully starting after next weekend will be selling the best goat milk you've ever tasted! (getting the goat cheese and goat milk from a LICENSED goat dairy here in Alabama and it is the best stuff! I have to watch or I'll eat all my profits!)...

Goat milk soap is still one of my biggest sellers (I make it) and I've made several Easter shapes, etc. Regular customers on the plain goat milk soap really keep me going!

I'm slowly expanding and I appreciate SO MUCH all the good, no GREAT ideas I get from this forum!!!

Cranberry chutney (also good on cream cheese, goat cheese)
Jelly made from a kit wine that I made last year....Chocolate raspberry port.
Strawberry rhubarb. Not unusual but so good.

My favorite flower.
I don't have enough on my property so I'll be planting some in my garden this year. Did you know they are not native, but were brought here because they are such a valuable herb?

Anyway - Lemon Basil Jelly.

Not lemon + basil, but the plant, lemon basil. I made one batch just to try an herb jelly and that was the herb I had the most of.
It is Oh My Good. I gave some away and have people beating down my door for more. And in thumbprint cookies...

BamaSuzy, your farm store sounds really cool and wish you much success with it.

I haven't actually seen it before, but doesn't Sangria jelly sound good?? It would be pretty in the jar, especially if it had the bits of fruit in it, and seems like it would taste awesome.

We sell sweet onion jam, garlic jelly, hot pepper jam, wild rose petal jelly, wild violet jelly, honeysuckle jelly, dandelion jelly, red clover jelly, lavender jelly, basil jelly, marjoram jelly, mint jelly, and thyme jelly along with standard fruit jellies and jams. Some of our best selling fruit jams are pineapple, honey/plum butter, dolgo crab apple jelly, currant jelly, and strawberry rhubarb jam.

I've tried onion/jalepeno jelly, it was very good, but my favorite jam to make is a batch of peach jam (out of the recipe on the pectin) and just add a Habenaro pepper to the recipe, cut up small. It gives the whole batch a nice latent kick that is really fun. You could add two of them for a more obvious heat, but Peach/Habenero is my favorite. I also do the Jalepeno/sweet pepper recipe that comes with the pectin, it makes a hot/sweet relish that is excellent. The flavor with home grown peppers is entirely different than that with store bought, much more peppery flavored (as opposed to hot).

Every year I make a lot of plum jelly, syrup and juice. I collect oddball and unused fruit in our area to mess with. I've made Japanese Quince jams and jellies, you may want to play with that. It has a very sour taste so needs some sweetening, but a nice aroma and beautiful color. It's related to roses and apples. It mixes well with others, is full of vit C and natural pectin.

I've done Hawthorn berries, they are bitter and a bit difficult to get a good flavor with, but said to be good for people with weak hearts, I make them for a couple of friends with heart problems.

I'm getting Elderberry bushes this summer, put in currants (LOVE currant jelly!), gooseberries and more raspberries last summer. I plan on getting a mulberry tree sometime soon too.

I've done sand cherry jelly, very good. I mix stuff when I don't have enough of one and sometimes those end up a lot of fun too.
