Wow. . .81 (82 if you count this one) post because someone stuck out their tuonge and walked out of the room. And I didn't see a nasty remark in the bunch (well maybe that jerk in post 81). That's something ain't it?

Ask any of the "old timers" how badly I crash landed in here. I think we all have that fish out of water in here at first. It stems from the fact that many people have long friendships established, many meeting IRL. Some people have built a rapport and talk in ways that may not be appropriate for a newbie or low poster to jump in on.

It isn't as clickish as it feels, honest. There is a theme of religious and secular posters but we all get by politely enough. This forum operates on a level of civility and cohesion not evident in many places online. I haven't seen your posts but if you happened to come in guns a' blazin' that can isolate you real quick.

I felt singled out by some people from time to time. Some was my fault, some was my perception and some people really were being ridiculous themselves. Oddly enough all of the folks I thought were my arch nemesis in time grew to have a truce of sorts or even a friendship. A couple people I couldn't stand ended up being some of my favorites in here. It took me lightening up and time to learn their style of humor or delivery.

Sometimes proving a point isn't worth the effort because you can find yourself arguing with one or two people while everyone else has evacuated the scene. Some people love to argue and no matter how much reason you think you are using it doesn't matter. I used to get into soooo much trouble in here and by the Grace of God, Chuck and the moderators I made the cull. I shouldn't have but I did and now I try to keep my opinions and controversy to a minimum unless I think I have something helpful to add rather than pot stirring. I also think that most people are over my eccentric sarcasm and oftentimes spastic exhuberance. It took some a long time to figure me out to the point they could handle me though.

Just imagine us as one giant, mostly happy and somewhat dysfunctional family. Whatever frustration you have or tension that was going on will fade away pretty quickly and life will move on. Relax, this is a great place if you get to know more people.

Nice to meet you BTW.

Oh don't go. I get lambasted once in awhile. I figure that what I am thinking as I type and what someone else is reading later is miss-interpreted by them. It is hard to put my thoughts into the correct words. The whole "coupon clipping thread" freaked me completely. I actually had to stop and meditate on it. I decided it was a good lesson for me to learn humility and patience. The Dalai Lama told me I needed rude people so I could learn patience.
There are much nicer people on the goat forum. Maybe you need to get a couple of goats?

I joined this site because I had experience in building with sawmill lumber and it was a good place to bounce ideas.
I have found that there is a viscousness and due to that I post very little. Some People here only want one mind set and if you deviate beware you will be vicerated.
It is a shame that there is that culture and it stops a lot of informaton but that is the price they pay and others receive.

Well, I learned something new, LOL! That little triangly thing up in the corner of each post is the report post button.

(Only took me about 8 minutes to find it - I was looking for "English" print - HA!)

Heck, I've left this forum several times since I joined way back when. I would stay gone a week or two then come back. I don't think anyone even knew I was gone. Didn't bother me. I'm also a really good thread killer. So maybe this will be the last post to this thread. LOL

S'ok hintonlady. You've grown on us and some of us did miss you whilst you were on your sabbatical.

I am the official thread killer. Don't go dredging up old posts, just take my word for it.
