What ive seen is that 4 doz will tell you there interested 2 or 3 months from the time it happens. a month from the due date, Itall be 3 doz. 2 weeks from the time, itall be 2 doz. a week, itall be a doz, and by the time it happens, one may, OR may not have a doz there. Gripes my grass, But I understand that alot of those people are bound by cometments they cant get out of that were thrust on them from the time the said theyed come to the time they said they couldnt. BUT, I know there are those, and many of them, who spontainsly say theyll come, but then later, think of the drive, the gas, the being with strange people thyve never met, or one will come, or one wont come, but one will, or 1/2doz other reasons why they wont come.

Gee farmboy, what a way to put a positive twist one this.....LOL Just giving ya crap, hey I'd be happy if 2 or 3 showed up. Those would be the ones who really put some thought into it, those would be the ones who do as they say. Yep there are the few that life changes things for them, but the ones who just didn't come with no good reason, would be the ones who were placed on my back burner as non reliable.

@ Marcia in Montana, I wonder how we could arrange something. Maybe one of the campgrounds in the NF up by Lolo? I guess it would depend on how many people might come.

While now only loosely connected to this forum, The Hardys in SW IN have an annual 4th of July homesteading event at their place. Called the Countryside Reunion. Last year something like 90 people went through the pot luck lunch line. More volunteer demonstrators than time allowed.

Added: Over 90 people went through the Saturday pot-lunch line.

I am hoping to meet up with a few individuals this year! Had one HT and her family come last weekend. We had a fantastic time!

Have met quite a few HT'ers and am hoping to meet more.

Rather like a family reunion. Eventually someone just sets a time, date and place and whoever shows up, shows up.

For those interested in small sawmills Robert Hardy has two of them.

I'd like to try meeting up in the NW. I'm in Oregon, but can travel if I plan ahead. Need someone to feed the creatures and check on Grandma, gas money, something to bring to share, and gas money. Sigh, and gas money.
