Here it comes again

The snow is coming and it looks like we will get 6 to 9 inches. I hope that it is the last one. It will get to 40% by Saturday so maybe it will not last too long. Here is the radar for now http://www.wunderground.com/radar/ra...%20Joe%2c%20AR .

goatlady 02/08/11 02:22 PM

NOT a flake here - yet! ;)

ahahahni1 02/08/11 02:33 PM

We are in Texas and our county is in for rain, and sleet and looking and no above freezing temps for 2 1/2 days. And of course I will have to make a trip to the PO to pick up my chickies on Thurs or friday. Murphys law ya know. I hope you all make out all right.

Windy in Kansas 02/08/11 04:17 PM

Already six inches on the ground and it continues to fall. It did however change over from large flakes/clumps to fine blowing snow. The wind is going to pile this snow deeply. Single digit temps to go with it also. Currently 5º with a 13 mph wind. The wind will be increasing in velocity a lot if the forecasters are correct.

Horse Fork Farm 02/08/11 04:28 PM

I feel your pain. White out here most of the day!

soulsurvivor 02/08/11 04:35 PM

Snow on the ground and began to melt this afternoon, but I wanted to comment about the saucer size snowflakes we had yesterday. That was one awesome snow to watch as one snowflake would cover the top of your head. I don't recall ever seeing snowflakes that big.

Supposed to have a couple inches of snow again tomorrow but that may be it cause it's going up to 55 by Sunday.

Oldcountryboy 02/08/11 09:41 PM

Suppose to hit us here in N.E. Oklahoma late tonight and snow till tomorrow afternoon. Suppose to end up with 4 to 8 inches more on top of what we still got. I hope it's the last one too. I'm getting sick and tired of not getting anything done for this coming garden season.

Windy in Kansas 02/08/11 10:11 PM

We now have 11 inches on the ground according to officials and it is still snowing and there is still more in the forecast.

Current temperature is 3º with 22 mph wind. Supposed to drop to 0º to -5º tonight.

Uncle. Uncle. Uncle. Hear that Mom Nature, I'm saying uncle? Enough already.

Old Vet 02/09/11 05:22 AM

Well at 4 am it started again we will see if it is going to be as a bad as they say. They still say that we will get 5 inches today and the temperature will drop all day. I have about a rick of wood in the house and another loaded in the bucket on my tractor so i will stay warm.:D

MOgal 02/09/11 07:59 AM

I'm in central MO and we are getting the very northern edge of this. Hopefully it won't be a big issue for us because DH is flying into St. Louis tomorrow night. Good luck to those getting it.

Quiver0f10 02/09/11 09:02 AM

We had @7 inches at 7 this am and it's still coming down fast.

Windy in Kansas 02/09/11 09:33 AM

It has now snowed for 24 hours and tad is still falling but radar shows it is about over.
From a storm report:
02/09/2011 0736 am; Hutchinson, Reno County.; Heavy snow e17.0 inch, reported by County official.
=========
Just finished clearing half of my sidewalk. Light and fluffy and easy to remove. Just swing a shovel and remove a few inches at a time.

Expect it will be a fun day as people get out and drive to the convenience store for cigarettes, coffee, and to look at the snow everywhere. Unless they have a high clearance vehicle they'd better stay home. Police cars, Crown Victorias, with chains were having difficulty last night before the last several inches fell. If it wasn't light and fluffy not much could get through it except 4 wheel drives.

JIL 02/09/11 09:43 AM

i'm in the zone very close to Old vet and we already have about 12" I am at one of the highest points elevation wise. with more snow to come and that is on top of the 5"+ that had not melted yet. I am trying to build courage to go out and get chores done brrrr

salmonslayer 02/09/11 10:19 AM

Its snowing lightly here and we are expected to get about 3 inches. WE are just going to stay inside today and watch the birds and eat.....like we really need that!

HermitJohn 02/09/11 12:04 PM

News is saying 30 inch snow over by Siloam Springs. I've got around 15 inch. Going to be a soupy slushy mess come the warmup on weekend.

gran26 02/09/11 12:06 PM

Central Arkansas here -- just a little south of Searcy, about 4" on the ground and coming down fast!

DWH Farm 02/09/11 01:24 PM

We are north of Bentonville, AR and last time we checked over a foot here. Still coming down.

Belfrybat 02/09/11 01:47 PM

We got about 1", mostly ice. I posted on the gardening forum that I am just downright grumpy. The hard thing for me was the drop in temps. It was 66F yesterday and 12F this morning with a high of 20 expected! Predicted to be about the same tonight. My body just can't adjust to those kinds of sudden temp. changes. And my poor plants are really suffering. I lost all the onions last week and looks like I'm going to lose the greens seedlings this week as they decided to germinate between the ice/snow storms. Pits.

Old Vet 02/09/11 02:08 PM

I have about a foot of snow now and still snowing. It will be at least until Sunday before all of is melting. I hope this is the last of the snow this winter.

JIL 02/09/11 02:26 PM

snow has slowed a bit last measurement on top of truck says 19" glad it has mostly slowed down; went to give water to the animals and boy is that a workout.

Quiver0f10 02/09/11 09:46 PM

We ended up with @ 14inches. I hope this is the end of the snow for this year.

JIL 02/10/11 07:15 AM

http://www.4029tv.com/weatherblog/index.html says historic snowfall totals and this morning Fayetteville AR hit all time low -17 wow

Terri 02/10/11 08:12 AM

Here in Kansas it is 4 below and dropping.

BUT! The high today will be 28, the high tomorrow 39, then 51, 54, 46, 53, 56, and then it is supposed to get warmer.

I think the backbone of winter has been broken!!!!!!!!

JIL 02/10/11 10:10 AM

Listen to them. You don't want to have a heart attack. That is the first symptoms of it. I know I had many.
