My mother's 14 yr. old Golden Retreiver is arthritic. What has helped him most in Rymadal (sp?). That and light food. He lost about 10 lbs., he's wasn't too fat, just a little middle age spread. Now he gets around great and plays with his 18 month old companion. He too, sleeps on an electric blanket. I don't know if if helps, but he sure likes it. The puppy sleeps on it with him.
