I loved Tracfone until the day I got a new phone and kept losing minutes. I kept a log of minutes and when I called them after losing 20 minutes overnight, they told me someone must have used the phone. Since I know no one would break into my house to use my cell phone, I think I could be pretty sure the phone was messing up. They refused to add any of the minutes back or replace the phone with another that worked correctly. I decided they didn't need my business. That was about 3 or 4 years ago, but I use Corr Wireless for $20/month and it's been working well for me.

Another prepaid cell user here. We pay between $11 and $22 per month (depending on which clients call ).Can't beat it. And we can text if we need to - texts will go through when calls won't in some areas we work.

We are on the $39 verizon plan with extra family lines of ten dollars each. I think it is 400min? We never go over because it's free incalling. We have 5 phones and it runs around 150 a month- depending on the downloads- for all of them with unlimited texting plans of ten dollars a month each. I love Verizon because you get free phones every 15months or so . Actually the main reason we went with them all those years ago was because they didn't want to charge us a deposit while US Cellular wanted several hundred dollars in deposits. I just love Verizon and cannot say enough good things about the service they have given us for the last ten plus years.
This month our bill was 131 and change for the five phones. Like I said it usually runs around the 150mark because the kids download ringtones once in a while.

Tracfone here. Customer service is poor, outsourced to India/Pakistan, very nice , but hard to understand sometimes.

The price is right though.

Verizon does have pre-pay, but your best bet it to go in and talk to them and find a plan that fits your usage.

Tracfone now uses AT&T so coverage may not be as good as when they were using Verizon.
