I've seen F350 diesels the same age going for the same price.

If it were a diesel, it'd just be getting broke in good.

Good thing about old trucks, you can replace parts on them once or twice a year, for about what a single payment is on a new one.

My 97 F350 diesel had about 300$ in parts replaced last year... that'd be about 2 weeks of payments on a new one.

If it's a Ranger, instead of a 150, I'd give 3K, 4k at the outside. Not much more, unless the engine had recently been replaced.

Then its a waste of time.
The full size will get as good of mileage and haul a lot more and last 3 times as long while doing it.

Which points up the importance of including all the info you can in the OP!

I have a 2000 Ford Ranger 4x4 XLT Supercab and I love it! Have 170,000 miles on it, about 95,000 in the last 3 years since I bought it. I really hate the thought of having to replace it eventually, as it has been such a great truck!

How many miles do you put on a year? Let's estimate the truck will go 200,000 miles. At 122,000 already, you have about 80,000 to go. If you put on 25,000 a year, you can hope to get roughly 3 years out of that vehicle at a cost of $2,000 per year or $166 per month. That's pretty cheap transportation, even if you figure in an extra $100 a month for repairs.

................The best engine in a Ranger is the 2.3 ! My 2008 runs like a top , got almost 32k so my 3\36 warranty will runout this year . I did a country boy trany flush for a $100 in parts at 30k and a little time on the cold hard ground here in RV park central . Local garage wanted $250 but I found a little extra help from the ford website and I'll know what to do at 60k for my second flush !
.................So far I've done oil changes , air filter , and just finished a fuel filter replacement . Couldn't believe how easy this lil bugger is too do maintenance , on . Now , diagnosing problem codes is an entirely different deal . , fordy

It had to be one or the other. The only difference in them was the lettering on the tailgate. And yes, this one was built in the twin cities.
