That's what I keep asking. Also, what about the flocks of birds that fell dead several days after the fireworks?

That might be a good explanation if it was just blackbirds. And just in America. But it isn't.
Here's another to add to the list. Pigeons have been dropping dead every day at this guy's farm since December 18. He's in Quebec. There's no explanation for why the pigeons are dying.
http://www.cbc.ca/canada/montreal/st...ds-quebec.html
Quote:
A farmer in Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures has found about 80 dead pigeons on his farm 20 kilometres west of Quebec City. Sylvain Turmel first noticed the dead birds in his field on Dec. 18. "I found two dead birds in the morning, which is normal, birds sometimes die," he said. "But when I came back one hour later, another 25 had fallen," said Turmel. "In the time it took me to pick them up, five more fell to the ground!"
Turmel called police and the fire department. They couldn't provide him with any answers, but he said while they were there, more birds fell to their deaths. He said wildlife officials with Quebec's Ministry of Natural Resources collected the birds for analysis but they are also stumped.
"All they can tell me is that it's not avian influenza, it's not the West Nile virus, and it's not poison," which is what officials suspected at first.
"It won't stop. I'm finding more [dead] birds every day." Turmel said that after they fall the pigeons usually remain on the ground for one or two hours before dying.

Its the "Canary in the coalmine" syndrome. As all the birds die off the bugs the will repopulate fast eating all the crops. Zombies will come out in mass eating people to survive. The bugs will eat my wife as everything attacks her.
Everything is lining up to the 2012 end of the world. Next Australia will sink like Atlantis under the weight of the flood waters. Other warm blooded animals will start dying in droves. The only thing left will be the cockroaches.
either that or its Bushs fault.

Perhaps we could get Al Gore to come out and revive ' Global Warming ' one more time to blame this on also. Global warming can do anything.

Could someone explain to me why Corexit was banned for use in the European Union, yet used very liberally in the Gulf of Mexico incident?

Yes. Doves will fill their crops to the maximum. If it's a food which will swell when it absorbs water, the bird may die.

I have a theory here.. The Mayans (and other civilizations) claim the world will end (or rather this age of society will end) on 12-21-2012. Scientists say the galactic alignment will occur at this time and that the poles will flip.
Scientists built the Hadron Collider.. aka.. "The God Machine" ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Large_Hadron_Collider ) Guess what it does??? It has the potential to ... wait for it.... flip the poles! I think they built the collider in an experimental attempt to simultaneously flip the poles when it occurs naturally.. as to 'maintain' our current state of existence. I believe when the poles flip.. matter basically falls apart or something like that.
Anyway.. I think the earth is preparing for whatever monumental event that is supposed to occur in 2012. My dark theory is that we could possibly be toasted regardless.. proving the Mayans right.. either by nature (galactic alignment and flipping of the poles) or by man (collider actually working).
Crap.. I hope I didn't hijack this thread or get too far off topic. Just saying that LOTS of stuff is going on and is being well concealed and damage control, where public knowledge is concerned, is being done. After all.. you don't believe they'd tell us the truth about anything going on anyway, do you? It's all scary to me.. but I live day to day (DH being deployed kinda forces me hand with that.. 10 mos down.. 6 to go! And we have 4 small children!) But when my Lord comes a callin'... I'll be rollin' on out!
Does beg one to consider the state and health of our fish.. especially since they could become (and for some, current are) a source of food. I'm talking fishing rivers/streams and such. Sorry for the long-windedness!

Well you certainly have a vivid imagination!! Pole reversals have happened many times in our history and they happen over 10s of thousands of years so its not something that happens overnight. And the whole Mayan thing is an invention of a novelist from 1976 and has been long since debunked...but it tends to grab the imagination.
You have enough on your hands with your husbands deployment and with only 6 months to go...now is the time to plan a nice getaway someplace warm. The Mrs and I went to Ft Walton Beach Florida when I came back from Iraq in 2007....highly recommend it!
Seriously, dont let this add to your worries and best wishes for you and your husband; we appreciate both of your sacrifices for your country.

Thanks Salmonslayer.. I'm always open to investigating all sides...
I've been to Ft. Walton beach back in 2007 also, can't beat those salt & pepper sands!!! I hope we can get back there some day.

Jericho
When we first saw the picture on TV of the highway strewn with birds, we both looked at one another. Remember the Jericho series?
Could some country have tested a bomb and the fallout be floating around in clouds that could be brought down in rain? Just a thought. Anyone ever hear a logical explaination?

100,000 roosting birds with little or no night vision frightened into a mass flight with no air traffic control resulting in thousands of mid-air collisions.

That may be true, but to shift a full 10 degrees? With that and the birds and fish from all over the world dying, it makes one wonder what is really going on.
