Like I posted back in the 50's - 60's from my grandmother. Never to use something like that again on my head.

maybe the people cutting your hair with a manual clippers were just rough people. have you ever noticed how rough and insensitive some people can be while simply combing a childs hair. The child is cringing and yelping and that is just with a comb. Some people have little or no empathy. I think the problem was eather dull clippers or a careless person, or maybe the combination of the two.

I use my manual clippers to trim my beard and I have noticed that if i go too fast then the clippers tug the hair and it hurts. If I slow down to a sane pace they work just fine. Some things cant be rushed.

LOL...Good for you! I too cut my own hair (I've been doing so since I was a broke college student who got tired of forking over $15 every two weeks or so) but I just run the bare clipper over my head-no worries about the neck line that way Luckily I have an evenly shaped head and my wife likes the buzzed look.
