Somehow I get the feeling you and I would disagree on what makes up "ethical animal treatment". It doesn't bother you that PETA and the like are against even pet ownership, has even come out against seeing eye dogs? They are horrified by a working farm dog but have they ever seen what happens to dogs that AREN'T allowed to work???? PETA and HSUS disguises itself as a friend to animals but they are ANYTHING but that.
We haven't even touched on any points about keeping livestock for food, I'm sure they would love to sue those of us who keep meat and milk animals, even though they are all very well cared for and loved. Our 4H (years ago now) was picketed by an "animal rights group", they threatened to come in and set all of the kids animals "free" (free to where??? by the way we had another "animal rights activist" "set free" some horses recently, one was seriously injured and one was killed, really nice for the animals). It doesn't bother you even one iota that they would love to take away my rights to feed my family???
I just can't believe that members of these boards are actually PETA and HSUS friendly??? They (those groups) are against EVERYTHING that most "homesteaders/farmers" are doing and literally do zero to "help" animals or "rescue" animals on any practical level. Ok, stepping off soapbox.
