In other words, you want to take livestock away from HT members. You are confirming a lot of suspicions.

Wait a tic--- I thought PETA stood for People for the Eating of Tasty Animals.
---- it-- I've been duped!!
Lyra-- if you limit the breeding of domesticated animals on a national scale, you do realize that such action opens the doors to "limit" the breeding of farm animals as well, yes?

HSUS doesn't adopt out pets.
They're so far removed from pets that it's not funny. You can google to see how less than 1/10 of 1% of the funds they take in actually go to help animals. The majority of their budget goes to operating costs.

HSUS and PETA member here.
Those who object to organisations who advocate for ethical animal treatment do so for purely selfish reasons, most often so they can make more money for themselves via the expanded suffering of other creatures.
They make up all manner of lies and fabrications to try and persuade those who sit on the fence to see things their way. You see it right here in action. Don't be fooled.

Try making a 100% living off the land for several years and come back and say that.

Yes, and there are many MANY people at high levels of the PETA organization who believe that OWNING a pet is cruel. Its not an issue with those who believe in kindness to animals-- its an issue in the wide WIIIIDE definition of what is "cruel".

...and if they had their way, they would also take ALL of your pets away from you.
We cannot eat an animal, use one for labor, nor own one. Kind of throws in the face of God's decree in Genesis.

One need only spend a little time with nature to realize we are not very cruel at all... Except when it comes to *urp* CAFOs.

This is EXACTLY what HSUS wants, a divided agriculture. Fight the ends against the middle and they will eventually win.

I have no idea why a member of PETA or the HSUS would ever be a member on this board. Goes against the Homesteading lifestyle.
Oh well, guess I'll go out hitch my horse up to the wagon so I can ride around and look at the cows that are getting fattended up for the butcher, probably butcher a chicken for supper tomorrow while I'm at it. Oh, and the dog can follow me around using his own 4 legs, no sense letting the horse pull that extra weight.

The supporters of HSUS also probably donate to ALF ( Animal Liberation Front ) for that warm fuzzy feeling they get over supporting them in Protesting , and in there freeing of Animals .
Or as sane people call it ECOTERRORISM

That's how they make their money.... people donate because they think the mission of HSUS is to help animals. Heck, I'd never have guessed the truth without hearing the quotes I've heard here.
