This is very interesting stuff. Please don't fuss - I am enjoying and learning from the conversation. We can all learn from back & forth exchanges - just don't fuss please.

Thank you for the links, everyone, and making me think more about this topic. Interesting topics.

Interesting video Paul.
Maybe someone already posted an answer to this. Dandelion leaves are the most tasty and tender in the spring. Eating fall dandelions sometimes means blanching. I cook mine like I would spinach, with onions and garlic, and make enchiladas from them. Taste BETTER than spinach in my opinion.

But sometimes in the fall, they are a bit blech eaten raw.

I agree. I've been trying to just ignore and walk away from people who just will not give it a rest on this forum. Thread started out good. It's hard to just walk away because it seems like you are giving in. But really, it's just a waste of energy and who cares if someone doesn't believe the same way you do. There is so little, I think, that we can TRULY say is a fact. Even then, be prepared to be wrong.

Danged Michigan weather too quickly turned to winter, stirred up my rheumatiz and kicked in my grouchy genes, including my usually recessive pit bull gene, so I grabbed a bite and hung on too long at what I perceived as something other than good scientific reasoning where a person proves his own hypothesis by experimental studies and empirical results, backed up by references to such. By so doing in this forum, I broke: Robert's Rules of Order, How to Win Friends and Influence People, and Martha Stewart's Guide to Gracious Living, and bent the Golden Rule a little, as well. Apologies to all: will spend the afternoon cleaning guns and meditating on the art of Zen, all the while hoping the "bygones principle" will kick in...........

My mommy loves me! I think! LOL I sure hope my Mommy loves me!
I wonder if it's provable with scientific studies and empirical results?

I think my grumpiness has kicked in too... seems to me that we've a few members that go on and on in their self important pride about how my facts are better than yours... one trip through, a few links and we have all we need if we are interested in following up. I rarely read this section and members like these are the main reason why. bleh

On the other hand, I like dandelions and my ducks love 'em! They DO give up nutrients when they die and you cook them or eat them in a salad. Supposed to be very nutritious too!
