This has been a helpful discussion, thanks everyone.

I guess I'll consider adding another manifold in my radiant to feed some hot water radiators as some have suggested here. The pellet stove is not dead but I have an uphill battle convincing the family on the safety. I really liked the heat monitor idea, that is until I read that CT and MA require external oil tanks--that was one reason we went to Nat.Gas $$$ in the first place.
