Last year there were so many macadamia nuts that they were selling the excess in fifty pound bags really cheap as pig feed. Yum! Pigs have strong enough jaws that they can crack a mac nut. It's in a shell that's harder than a black walnut. Now there is a different type of nut cracker available so folks don't all have to take their nuts to the one processing place so there isn't an excess of them this year. I suppose that's good for folks hoping to get chocolate covered mac nuts, not so good for those of us who like to eat "pig food".

I generally like the nuts in the dish in front of me. Mac nuts are tasty, almonds are good, black walnuts are good, English walnuts are good, peanuts are good, just about any kind of nut is good! It's mac nut season right now, so that's what's in the dish.

I am totally nuts over nuts..all nuts..but they gotta be really fresh..so i freeze most of mine..also seeds..love em all.

Have planted a lot of baby nut trees for my future on the property here..hope someday they will actually bear.

have Halls Hardy Almond, Black walnut, Carpathian Walnut, butternut, 2 sweet chestnuts, 6 dwarf hazelnuts, planted hardy pecan and 2 hickory nuts but not sure they made it..might try some of those again..

Brazil nuts is what they are called now. They were commonly called something else, very politically incorrect, when I was a kid.

I love almost all nuts! Pecans, almonds and hazelnuts all tie for my favorite. I'm just so-so on cashews, and I absolutely do not like pistachios and macadamia nuts, good thing I guess since they're so expensive, lol. Other than that, I love them all. My favorite part of my Christmas stocking was the nuts, apple and orange, liked them better than the candy and toys!
