There is a tarp over the top and it hangs under the tarp.

Love the idea of this. For improved "driving" and mobility, how about using some wheels on casters so you can move it in any direction?

Have to be careful, though, about the space between ground and the bottom.

Good job!

Thanks for posting this - it may be just the thing for one of my clients. She tried free ranging her Girls & Roos and lost most of them so this might work for her.

Client? Tell me more! Do you do homestead consulting?

:smiley-laughing013:Not at all (wiping tears from my eyes after ROFL). You could advise SO much better than I could . I'm a professional pet sitter in my seventh year of business and a total greenhorn when it comes to homesteading - but I'm learning!

This client has a hobby farm and all of her animals are pets, though of course the chickens lay eggs that she eats. I love going out there. She wants her Girls & Roos to have a nicer life than the coop they are in. The current one is a fine size but fixed in location. She's trying to decide whether to make two or three more enclosures off the main shelter of the coop and rotate the birds through them or do a chicken tractor. I hope that over time she can have both!

Seedspreader, I love the design. One question. How do you provide water for the chickens in the tractor?

Super Coop Chicken Tractor Video. - Homesteading Questions

It hangs on the right, just inside the door. I don't have to lift anything or worry about it making the coop not move.

2 Gallon metal fount from TSC. I have a ton of the plastic ones that sit on the ground, but don't like them.
