How else could the American Farmer not only feed Americans but much of the world. We export many crops and also lots of meat to other countries as well.
After all this is the 21st Century with now over 300 Million population in the US. Not just a million or so like back in the 1900's.
One must look outside of the box and beyond ones own backyard pastures.
I keep hearing how farmers need this or that or we will starve. One justification for farm subsidies.

Then I keep hearing how we are suffering from an obesity epidemic, which threatens to overrun our healthcare system, and will shorten the next generation's lifespan.

The problem doesn't seem to be lack of technology, but lack of effort. Rather than put in 20 minutes a day toward growing some food, someday kids and adults will not have to get out of bed, but can just be hooked up to their IV line containing the cheaply mass produced corn/soybean/canola/beef/chicken mixture.

And we call it progress.

Schmoozed? All I got out of that is that he met with them. Isn't that what public officials do?

It appears that the orignal topic is no longer being discussed, so I'm closing the thread.

Please no more Monsanto threads for a while. If you must discuss Monsanto, do it in General Chat.
