If I had to hazzard a guess, it would Kansas Cityites, St Louisians, and a smattering of Californios.

I hope it stays that way. Perhaps the depression has a few unintended good consquences.

Yup I would be buying there if I didn't want to stay close to family. The only problem with the area is good paying employment, not an issue if you don't need good paying employment.

Hey Salmonslayer,
While all of what you say is true, I keep moving back to Missouri because I get homesick for the ticks and chiggers not to mention the heat and humidity.
All kidding aside, its the people and the way of life I miss most.

Around our area it seems to be mostly Californians.

Yeah, but we don't mind them as long as they aint from Austin; of course if their from Austin they are probably not true Texans anyway. I can say that half growing up in Texas and half in MO.

Ha, and dont forget all the spiders. You hit it though, my little town is a throwback to the early to mid part of the 20th century and that suits me just fine. Folks are friendly, they help each other out, elderly people are respected and cared for....I first lived around here in the early 90s and vowed to come back when I retired...glad I did.
