have a buck lock blade that I found on the shoulder of the road about fifteen years ago.I started carrying it instead of the little three blade folding knife I had.I use it several times every day.

I'm another who buys cheap knives because there are so many jobs which require doing things which would make me cry if I had to use an expensive blade. Then there's the fact that things (knives, cell phones, wallets, keys, etc.) tend to jump out of my pockets when I'm out working. After losing two Gerber knifes I just started buying the 2 for $10 knives. I got a bunch (40) in a package after Christmas for $10. Most are small but cut fine and for a quarter each what could I really lose?

I carry a single blade fold out knife in the pocket of my chore coat along with a $3.99 plastic palm sized sharpener. I use it mostly for cutting netting off round bales. I don't like handling the netting, but it's OK. I'm going to carry gray utility knife out the next time and see how well it works on the netting. Gotta be better. The knife and sharpener are OK for...breaking eggs that I gather in my pockets when I go by where the chickens lay.
