Someone in New Martinsville has california rabbits for sale. Google "bare bones trader" and look under the livestock section.

Hi Tamsam

I know nothing about Ham Radio, I realize it will be important in the near future.

Is this fest in Jane Lew at the Jackson Mills Museum. I would like to try to get there.

I drive a white 2003 Chevy 4 wheel drive beat-up pickup. Am 65 years old walk with a slight limp.

I would like to meet a neighbor. I will be there around 2:00pm.

Best regards,

Dave

I'm not a ham either but I may try to get there. That's about a half hour drive for me. Jacksons Mill would be a good place to get together plus maybe learn something to boot. I've got a transceiver from the fire dept. that's not as useful as it should be. Maybe I can get some pointers.

Hi Darren

When I put Jackson’s mill in Google it showed the town way to the east of Pennsboro about 200 miles. Please check the location before you depart.

I would hate you to go to the wrong place.

Best regards,

Dave

I've been to the mill many times. I was there last Saturday for a class. I'm guessing you live north of Rt 50 so getting there is more of a hassle. Taking 50 to I79 would be the long way around for you. You might want to check taking Rt 18 to Rt47 to Rt 33 to Gee Lick Road for distance. Gee Lick takes you straight to the back entrance. Watch for beau coup deer along Rt 18.

If the meet is at the resort, that's a different story. Going to I 79 would probably be the fastest way. If you want to ride together, I can meet you at the intersection of Rt18 and Rt47 in Troy.

If you check the maps there is a road that turns off of 50 just a little ways before Clarksburg that will shave lots of miles off of the trip. It's been close to 30 years since I drove it so I don't remember the name.I used to drive it from Parkersburg and it is nowhere near 200 miles from there.

It may be route 19. Does that ring any bells??

I think it meets up with 19 but I'm pretty sure it's not even a state highway. Just a paved country road. I'll try to find a map.

Would love to see photos of yall's farms/ranches. I am hoping to visit WV some day because apparently my wife has long lost relatives in the hollows of WV somewhere. Seems a long time ago a member of her family had a wood mill business and was in business with possibly his brother (I think maybe her great great grandfather or some such ancestor) and he was thinking about selling out..the brother said no. End result? The older brother burned down the wood mill and fled with his servant and family with the younger brother in pursuit. Ended up in Illinois or Iowa (will find out more where) and since then that branch of family has moved to various states and now most of them are in Kansas and Colorado with a few more members elsewhere. My mother-in-law says she did track 'em down and visited them a long time ago (before there were any kids born) and said they still had outhouses and a dirt floor inside the house. Thought that was interesting!

Here is the link: http://www.arrl.org/hamfests/west-vi...ate-convention

It is in Weston, not so far from my home.

Best regards,

Dave

To get to Jackson's Mills, take I-79 to Jane Lew exit and follow the signs. Not hard to find at all.
