Customer (no) Service is a joke!

My Direct TV is not working on certain channels.
After jumping through all her hoops, she schedules me a service call.
Between 8-12 is when he will arrive.
I asked if he could call when he was 30 min away.
She said "I will make the request, but no guarentee".
THEN SHE SAYS:
The call is a 49.99 call, but since you are a loyal customer, this time it's free.
I asked who owned the receiver, me or Direct TV.
She said "oh ma'am that belongs to us".

So they would charge me, to fix THEIR equipment?
Really?
HAHAHAHAHA I don't think so.....

I would love to see a thread where people post WHO HAS GOOD Customer Service.
Then post a thread of who has horrible.
I have a feeling the horrible, unfortunately will out weigh the good.
How did the DirecTV work out? Mine started doing that and having no sound on some channels (odds or evens I forget) so I called them. I couldn't be home for the repairman so I had to schedule the repair for several days out. Before the day rolled around the problem went away.

I stopped buying from Sears years and years ago. Their stuff turned to. . .ah. . .let's just say their quality slipped a lot and their service dropped even lower than that.

I get higher quality stuff at the dollar store than I can get from Sears.

Goats are not cheap to keep. Goat fencing and winter feeding expensive. Certainly ot an option for us. Barn is not totally closed up. We'd have the expense of closing that up too.

Goats would be more expensive and more work than a riding mower.

I will let you know what the repairman says!

Well, my two cents on Sears....not sure what to think sometimes. Bought a chainsaw from them...had some problems....returned it as it was almost new to be fixed under warrantee...they did..in fact they gave me a new one, they said something else was wrong with it...I was happy....the saw is NOT a Stihl nor ever will be one. I have an old front tine tiller....I was delighted to find the parts diagrams on the internet to order replacement parts....until I discovered that my serial number showed a rear tine tiller....I called to try to find out the deal....it was like talking to a computer.....so I just try to keep my expectations at a moderate level and I am more or less satisfied....good hand tools.....

How about Comcasts customer service? Any problem will take aleast 3 calls at an hour apiece. More than likely a technician will have to visit. He won't be able to fix it but won't tell you until after he has fiddled with it for 8 hours. A specialist will have to follow him. He can fix it but will have to redo your whole system because it was done wrong originally even though that is what was done last year for the same reason. The whole process will take a month from the first phone call.

How about Verison phone service? At my son's home, they put up a tower across the road and messed up the phone wires that go to into his house....left the wires lying on TOP of the ground and along the ditch for about 1/4 mile. His phone goes out almost every time it rains or someone mows....he tries to call repair service, sometimes they send someone out, they promise to bury the line or fix it, nothing ever gets done.....and this has been going on for at least 5 years!!
