I bought a roll of the foil/bubble wrap, about $50 at Lowe's, was more than enough for my singlewide (with no trees, no shade). I hang each piece with a push pin, so I can remove it if I want.

I found some dark green plastic mini blinds at Wal Mart on clearance and they're really helped in the upstairs master bedroom.

For the guest room upstairs that faces west I found some of the window tinting film in the Wal Mart automotive area that was marked down. It has helped a lot, although I did put dark sheers on those windows as well. That room was unbearable during the summer, even though it was air conditioned. The window tinting not only cooled the room, but cut out the glare in there during the afternoon.

i too am sweltering, and we dont' have air. we have a window unit but no way to install it yet as we need 220 and dont' have that yet in our house. i have tall ceiling, and up top is a large window--and it points south, so i am certain we need that covered/filmed up, something!

so is this the shade cloth stuff that would work?

I think they have actual shade cloth in the garden section. I don't think it is that expensive either but I hate my Walmart since no price is ever marked and they are remodeling so it is difficult to get someone to help you. I did look it at it Friday morning but could find no one to help me.

Since I am just looking for a few windows I ended up in the camping section at the space blankets. I did buy 3 but then when I got home I was looking at them more closely and they are suppose to attract the heat by putting them over you in the winter. I don't want to attract the heat so can someone tell me if I bought the wrong thing????? If I put these up in the window won't it get hotter?
