This is great information. I didn't know about the forestry commission.

Because of your warnings we are going to have a serious sit down with the seller and the Realtor ( we are friends with the Realtor and the seller is an old family friend of the Realtor) So basically we can say that if they don't get crazy cousin billybob under control there will be no sale. By under control we mean, beginning now he does not come on our future land. If he does then the deal is off, if we have already bought it we call the sheriff.

I know you think we should pass on this but I don't think I can make you understand how much it means to us to be next to our dd and her family. They lived in our front yard in a small home we had (added on trailer) for 4 years so we know that we can get along. And we work on projects together all the time, it would just be more convenient. And don't get me started on those awesome grandkids.
Then there is the thought that since the lady has already let this property sell in her mind and heart, if we don't buy it she will look for another buyer and it might not be the best neighbor for my dd.

oh the drama!
