With the way this country is going with the IRS being able to take your refund for your healthcare, and bankrupt states being slow in paying their refund checks, I'd spend a few bucks and have a CPA tell me how many deductons I can take so I OWE rather than using the government as a savings account - at no interest.

Call it paranoia - I call it cautious and smart.

Ya, once you give it to them you may never get it back... it's almost that way now. 82% of what I paid, they kept. And I had deductions... next year I'm done for.

I can't wait till we can do our own taxes again!! We still have foreign taxes to deal with, so the company has them done for us. We've paid more taxes ever since they took over. We were notified that they have our extension filed, they don't usually do our taxes till Sept or later!

I agree with you, but its like going to a funeral, sad, and missed, but no way to bring back new life, Many know the problem, but few do anything and less are concerned, so the march goes on.

What's ironic is that this is the lowest tax burden US taxpayers have for about 60 years. lol

Now, are taxes going to go UP? Well, that's quite likely...
But given the current griping of the masses, it's obvious most people don't actually know what they're talking about.
