...because you don't know if it will be filled at the last minute before it's picked up, by the people legitimately paying for the service.

You drive onto the scale with your loaded truck, they weigh it, you dump your stuff and drive back over the scale with your empty truck. A simple subtraction gives the amount of refuse.

From the website for Hometown Dumpster Rental:
Roll off dumpster prices vary greatly from state to state and city to city. The main reasons for the variability is the difference in the costs associated with disposing of the waste in the local landfill and the taxes that are levied by some local municipalities.

Landfills charge dumpster services by the ton to dump their roll off containers. The cost per ton to dump in one city may be 3 to 4 times what it costs in a different city. If you live in an area with high landfill fees, your dumpster service prices will be higher.

The size of the dumpster also affects price. The larger the dumpster you rent, the higher the price. Larger, heavier roll off dumpsters cost more to haul and dump than smaller dumpsters, and that is reflected in the price.

I dont think this is the type of dumpster that most here were thinking about. I think most were thinking of the smaller kind that are dumped INTO a truck and contain 1 to 12 yards of capacity. SOME trucks do have the ability to weigh that type too but its EXTREAMELY rare.

Well I want groceries, and I don't want to pay for them. Kroger charges money for me to have them. They are stealing from me, too!

Just to let you know what does happen when you get caught. I have a co-worker who mistakenly thought it was okay to dump some large cardboard boxes into a business dumpster. A couple of days later he was visited by a couple of sheriffs deputies who arrested him, took him out of his house in handcuffs and stuffed him in the back of a patrol car. He had to bond out of jail and then have his day in court. He got a little hot under the collar explaining to the judge about the mistake and almost got himself thrown back in jail for contemp of court. He was charged a hefty fine for his actions.

Anytime I have made a large purchase (like a TV) at the Wallyworld I have asked if I could bring the box back in after I take the product out and put it in my car. They have alway allowed me to bring the box back into the store for them to dispose of. I see people all the time that take stuff out of boxes in the parking lot and then leave the mess for someone else to pick up.

Not this is just silly. It makes no sense.

I don't want school institutions. If you people want them, then you pay.

I am paying! I pay money to schools unwillingly and schools have dumpsters. I can therefore use the dumpsters. If the school people don't like it then they should stop having other people steal money from me.
