From the website for Hometown Dumpster Rental:
Roll off dumpster prices vary greatly from state to state and city to city. The main reasons for the variability is the difference in the costs associated with disposing of the waste in the local landfill and the taxes that are levied by some local municipalities.
Landfills charge dumpster services by the ton to dump their roll off containers. The cost per ton to dump in one city may be 3 to 4 times what it costs in a different city. If you live in an area with high landfill fees, your dumpster service prices will be higher.
The size of the dumpster also affects price. The larger the dumpster you rent, the higher the price. Larger, heavier roll off dumpsters cost more to haul and dump than smaller dumpsters, and that is reflected in the price.

I dont think this is the type of dumpster that most here were thinking about. I think most were thinking of the smaller kind that are dumped INTO a truck and contain 1 to 12 yards of capacity. SOME trucks do have the ability to weigh that type too but its EXTREAMELY rare.
