Well, did you get sick from that? Maybe you should try it. Meanwhile, I'm going to continue to clean our dishes (after I let the dogs run their disgusting tongues all over them).
Did I get sick from what? Maybe I should try what?

My point was, I have probably eaten things worse than dog slobber, but at least it was unintentional. To knowingly let a dog lick a plate that I am going to eat from, even if it is washed first, is...well, disgusting. Of course some people let their dogs lick them in the face and mouth too. To each his own.

Some interesting things come up here on HT! I know I am not going to convert you dog plate lickers (not trying to), and you are not going to convert me. So let's just part as friends!

Well, at least I don't do that. Could have something to do with not liking dogs.

I have to agree. Never expected to see something like this in my life.

And I had reltives who jumped on me because I put left over stew in the just emptied country crook butter tub without washing it first.

Add: My dogs have never licked a dish that I own and never will.

You wussies never been backpacking, right? 1 spoon and 1 sierra cup- for all eating and drinking needs and water is too precious to waste on washing either your dishes or your body.
I usally add a glug of hot water to my sierra cup after chowing down , swirl and drink it up.
I do have an occasional glob of freezedried foodlike substance that refuses to be postprandial soup and in that case the sieera cup gets scrubbed with my toothbrush when I brush my teeth- WITHOUT benefit of soap.
Not dead yet and if I came down with turista wld probably only balance out the constipation associated with backpacking and freeze dried foods.
