Well, after a week of temps with lows in the low 40's, and highs in the 60's, good winds and a bit of rain over the past 24 hours, we can now see about a third of the yard and fields where the wind swept the snow away as it fell over winter - the rest of the open land and woods have up to 2' of snow yet.

We expect the peepers to sound off here as usual - some time about mid April.

Enjoy your bugs for the next few months as well, folks.

yep i mean the little spring frogs, tho the confusion is understandable. i've never seen one either, now that you mention it. the forsythia is in bloom and saw a redwing the other day.

what a relief!! now if we can just get our traditional near-easter major snowfall out of the way, i can plant!!
