does yours require a finish product? When ours gets low the dishes wash badly. Also, use unsweetened koolaid lime or lemon flavor, it's the citric acid stuff that works. ( you might look at the ingredients in the professional dishwasher cleaners and see what the main ingredient is in it.

Hmm, we have been using walmart dishwasher soap, I'll change back to cascade when I go to Costco. I bought a bottle of the proffessional dishwasher cleaner stuff, it looks like its just a big bottle of citric acid, but I am hoping it will be stronger than the koolaid stuff and do the trick a little better. I'll look into getting one of those pipe cleaners at home depot too. Thanks again for the help!

Before you change back just check the consumer report on dishwasher detergent, last year and this year it was between Walmart and Cascade - only the powdered stuff though.

Eight people and nary a one to wash dishes. I worry you'll not recover from this, develop a plan for survivors and contemplate your imminent demise.

Make sure when it is loaded that the wash arms are not getting blocked by dishes or something else. The tower - that thing that attaches to the upper spray arm could be stuck. Try pulling it up. Some machines have a filter that needs to be cleaned- you said you cleaned the things in the bottom of the tub though. Do you have hard water? Is the heating element coated with white residue? If you leave it on the heating element, it can cause it to burn out.

Hope it's something simple. If all else fails - call the company you bought it from. If it was new - it's still in warranty.

When I was younger and my Mom's dishwasher didn't do a good enough job........I had to rewash them

I was also the remote control for the T.V. Good thing we only had 5 stations we could pick up, sometimes Dad couldn't make up his mind what to watch.
