Hard to pick a favorite.
Daily driving a 2005 Dodge Dakota 4X4 quad cab or a 89 F150 extended cab.
Then there's Bluto, an 89 Silverado that's been used and abused but is a work horse, and my little 79 Plymouth Arrow pickup.
I also have a 76 GMC with a 455 Olds motor that's just for fun and trailer pulling.

It was a very tight fit far as length, literally not half inch to spare and electric fan in front of radiator behind stock grill. Also required me to weld up a custom oil pan. However it beats any V-engine far as working on stuff from the side. I can get to starter and distributer much easier than on the little V6 it replaced. Been easier if I had done a body lift, but I wanted it to look stock, dont like the "lifted" look, and I am too cheap to buy kit anyway.
Thing is I used 3spd and transfer case out of an early Bronco. Those old 3spds leave something to be desired far as shifting (no fast shifting), but it fit nice. Really, really wish it was an overdrive. With the 300, I have huge amounts low end torque and significant overdrive would take good advantage of that.

1980 F250 single cab 4X4 with the 300 inline 6.
Helped move a mobile home in exchange for the truck, no money out of pocket. 21 MPG if I am careful, 19 if I'm not. Great wheelin rig, and oh so easy to work on.

I still have vivid dreams of my very first truck, 30 something years later. 9 times out of 10, when I dream of vehicles, it's the old beater International.
My current beater is 13 years old, and hope to get another 13 out of it. I'll never get rid of it. When it's finally too tired to chug along, I'll give it a choice spot off in the corner of the woods nearby.

I learned to drive on a 1 ton International truck with a livestock box on the back. I believe it was a late '60s model. Thanks for the memories texican.

i would if i could get in on the drivers side..the passenger side has straps to assist..but drivers side does not..so i can't drive it until someone..puts steps on it for me

my first truck was a dodge dakota,, loved it,, little cried when it died,,
now f150 so beat up it has to have ag plates on it to be on road,, but it is still going slowly but going,, i will cry when it dies,, my dh beats on my truck terrible but it still goes,, if i did that to his it would die

I think I might have said this before but you should really post some pictures for curious folks such as myself. The 300 six is my favorite motor of all time.

I did post pic or two in shop forum here year or two ago. If nobody has accessed it for sometime, the pic host sight may have deleted it. Pics also posted on fordsix.com forum in an old thread, but it also is more than year old. I intended to make a dedicated webpage with lot pics of my progress in building it, but never finished it. Now I'd have to hunt up the pics. I'm great at procrastinating. Since I am already finished with the project, just not really thinking about it anymore.
If you dont find it post back and I will take a fresh pic of it and post. Thats easier than hunting for the old pics.
I will point out one interesting fact, despite liking the 300 best, it frankly would have been easier to use a GM straight six, even a 292 into Ranger. The oil pan would already be correct and the distributor/oilpump is on the front passenger side out of way. Its on middle of drivers side on the 300 and I had to notch out the frame part of axle to make room. Thing about the GM configuration is the exhaust is on drivers side and cant go straight back cause of where Ranger gas tank is. Have to either go under engine or tranny with exhaust pipe or else circle around the front of the engine like some of the 60s era Dodge pickups.

'95 Chevy Diesel. 2500 4x4 extended cab. Love, Love my truck. Dh has a 2005 GMC 1500 that he likes, but it is not near as loved as my Sparky.
DH once suggested trading my truck in. I think he is still regretting THAT suggestion. He can trade his truck in. Mine will become a farm truck, when she is done on the road, hopefully long in the future. She hauls horses, tractors, hay, water, never misses a beat, just gets a little lower and meaner if the load is heavy.
When Sparky is no longer road worthy, the only thing I can imagine buying is a newer Chevy Duramax. Providing they still make them  Who knows what will happen now that the gubmint owns GM.
I'm definately a truck lover, but when we do serious off roading, we take the Jeep

There is another 300 Ranger with posted pics on web, dont have link handy. He did a body lift, used automagic tranny, and tried to hotrod it with an aftermarket manifold and 4bbl carb. I still think trying to hotrod a 300 is silly, they are basically a tractor/industrial engine and designed to be most efficient under 3000rpm. 300s are all about low rpm torque, not high rpm horsepower. The head doesnt allow breathing necessary for high rpm and if you dont do high rpm, you dont need huge honkin carburetor.
I had seen his pics before doing my conversion. However hadnt noticed the body lift on his due to his big tires and he hadnt mentioned it. But then noticed my front turn signals set lower compared to bumper and sure enough... It did let him use standard 300 oil pan and bigger radiator. I had to modify my oil pan significantly and ended up using an aftermarket all aluminum radiator made for an early Falcon V8. There is no extra space, even small bump into front grill would destroy fan and radiator. The only way, short of cutting into firewall, to gain more space and then only inch or so would be to track down a single groove damper pulley off a '60s 240 (300 is a stroked 240). Dont really need the 3 groove pulleys standard on most 300s before they went to serpentine belt. Possibly could use a serpentine belt setup if you could find correct length belt after eliminating all the modern extras. There is room for alternator and power steering pump and really nothing else.

Ok so I can't deny I am jealous of all you folks who have your own trucks, but I'm going to wade in with the one I like best from the farm I work on. Its an old Nissan single cab with a good sized flatbed. No idea on model etc. but bar the heaviest steering in the universe its a stunning truck to drive, probly 30 years old but still going strong.
When I get my own truck it will be a Toyota Hilux Single-Cab Pickup (probly a 2.5 Diesel, <2000 Reg.) or a Landrover 110 Double-Cab Pickup 300 TDi, I dont know much / anything about american trucks.

I payed $800 for this truck almost ten years ago. I put a battery on it and changed the alternater a few years ago. Other than that I have never had a problem with it. It pulls my boat nearly every time it leaves the driveway. If I ever get a new truck, it will be parked behind this one.
I had intentions(still do) of restoring it.
