I see where the Japanese are using the sawdust from driftwood for growing mushrooms.

Now see that is what I've got on my mind. How would a person go about turning a handy supply of driftwood into sawdust? Would I run them through a chipper shreddar? Would that be fine enough to grow mushrooms on?
