No pay T.V.!
Since they went digital, we have many more public broadcasting stations.
I'm fine with that!

My TV died, and once they went digital, I couldn't watch anything anyway, so I watch everything online (since I'm a TV junkie and going cold turkey isn't appealing). Try hulu or casttv. Also, individual sites such as a and e and cnn are great. I've heard fancast is great. Check our your library, too. Ours has a fanTASTIC (and growing) selection of tv series on DVD. I'm found lots of BBC shows and American shows I'd never seen and become a fan of.

Don't watch TV, HT forums are plenty interesting enough. If I really want excitement, will go to Gen CHat.! HA!!

Seriously, don't have the time to watch & sit any TV shows. Simply not worth it in the long run.

We have Dish Network, without the satellite we would have nothing. I am just not ready for no TV, and neither is DH.
Oh also wanted to say we dont get any reliable radio broadcasts either, so without TV or radio we would be out of the loop for local news and weather.

We have regular network t.v., OTA or whatever y'all are calling it. Just plain old t.v. Bought a converter box because we refused to go buy a new television to accomodate the digital stuff. Can't stand the idea of paying for t.v., considering how much of it is unwholesome and promotes immoral or amoral behavior as the norm.

Now whenever the weather changes or we get a hard rainshower, the digital signal goes out and the screen says 'No Signal'. Hooray, what progress.

No streaming or DSL or high speed or movies on the computer or Netflix or etc etc etc either. I'd rather pick up a book or magazine or a hobby and work on it a while, or call my mother or best friend or something.

But of course I get most of my news from the news websites, and there are a few places like this to come for a bit of entertainment and education.

Move to Australia, where we get 15 'free to air' channels (including the 3 govt-owned commercial-free channels which I watch a lot because they have my kind of programs). We get the option of paying for more channels through many different providers (the favourite seems to be Foxtel), as if we really need more!! All you need is a TV capable of receiving digital TV - or if you have an older TV, you need to buy a Set Top Box (digital converter box) and plug it in.

I have a digital TV, and I also have a STB because I record programs quite a lot. I also have a DVD/VCR player hooked up to the system - and because I'm seriously challenged by such things, I had to bring in an expert to wire it all up for me, but it gives me multiple options.

I would hate having to pay for all TV reception!

We have Dish and have had for years, however if times get tough, it'll be the first thing to go. Luckily times are not tough for us.

We've never had a satellite service, and very rarely even watch anything on TV at all. If there's something we find out about that we think we might want to watch we will, but even then we usually wind up watching the replays on the internet.

It has been a little over a year since we fired our cable provider. We had just a few local channels that came in very well, then with the digital conversion? The converter didn't work to even get one channel. We haven't missed the TV time waster one bit. I read my news online and slowly am adding to our video library. I've watched a few programs on hulu, but don't want to get into any sort of routine. There is more to do around here...and no shortage of work.

We can't afford paid TV.
Managed to get the Antenna moved, so we at least get a couple of channels.
Also watch shows on Hulu sometimes.

We get one channel, used to get two and then the antenna blew over. Rarely watch it anyway and when we do I'm always shocked by the how many commercials there are.

I will occasionally watch on-line. YouTube actually has a lot of old classic cartoons available for the kids or nostalgic adults.

Hi everyone! i got rid of direct tv a year ago, i have a newer tv with a HD tuner, i went to walmart and bought a 33dollar amplified antenna and i get 7 stations in HD for free, crystal clear, better than my picture from direct tv. I've found that if nothings on, then i go do something productive, rather than channel surf.

I just looked at hula and they have really increased the content over a year ago. May have to figure a way to play it to our tv, hopefully without needing to use a cable.

Well in case you people did not know this, but sometime in 2010, HULU is planning on going to a Subscription Fee to view its contents..

Once the switch to digital took place, we went from getting 12 channels to only 2. The signal just isn't strong enough out where we live. We could handle the occasional static before the switch, but when things went digital half the time the picture would stop and scramble. We didn't watch enough TV to invest in a better antenna so we just chucked to darn thing altogether. My husband has a home office so we already had high speed internet and through Hulu and occasionally buying a show on Itunes, we can watch all of our favorites and more, legally and without the headache.

For those folks who use Hulu or similar website, do you watch it only on your computer screen or do you have it ported to a larger tv? What happens when more than one member of the family wants to watch a tv show on hulu?

Thanks
