Laminate comes in a wide range of grades. Some is perfectly appropriate for a bathroom; some would be worse than useless.

If the salesperson said the stuff you bought isn't appropriate for bathrooms, it probably isn't.

That said, since you have it, it is paid for, and you don't have anything else to do with it, I'd go ahead and give it a try. Just don't set your expectations too high.

I want to thank everyone for their input and comments. DH is going to start on the guest room in the morning, so wish us luck LOL.

after we see how easy it goes down we will be continuing the project.

Like all our DIY projects we will be learning as we go and are grateful for the good people on this forum to help with that process.

PS... went to do the dishes this evening and found out the kitchen sink is leaking LOL so guess what gets done first....
