(im not saying that you are, please understand) i just am being careful with my family,

I just sent you a PM reply but I should answer some of these here for other people's benefits!
The situation could potentially be very long term. We have absolutely no plans to sell the farm and will most likely always need someone there to help out. Currently, none of my family members live at the farm full time. Members of my family are there all but 2 days a week typically. So there are no other children that live on the farm but my nephew (1 yr) is there once a week and we have many cousins (ranging in age from 1-6) that come frequently as well.
Pets we would consider on a case by case basis. We have free ranging chickens, so uncontrollable dogs are certainly out of the picture! We also are trying to keep the stray cat population down, so fixed cats only. But I'd say we are pretty lenient on the pet issue.
Yes, the house is a one bedroom, one bath with kitchen, living room and laundry and a small front porch.
We have been asked about health care in the past. I would LOVE to be able to provide it, but I just haven't quite figured out how to work it in. There are some programs in Texas that we are looking into though.
And yes, I am an admin of a Pagan homesteading forum, the one in my signature line (which is, by the way, open to anyone of any faith). I am actually not religious (more spiritual with strong ties to nature) and neither are the majority of my family members. Our farm has no religious convictions, just convictions about being good people to one another, to the animals and to the land! We do hold parties at the farm - luncheons, picnics and such for the CSA members - but nothing loud and certainly not anything late night! Gotta milk the goats in the morning!
Hope that clears a few things up!

Thank you, I wasn't trying to answer for your forum. I was just trying to answer mamaof3peas questions as honestly as I could..
I have book-marked the site so the DW and I can look at it later and maybe sign up as well.

oh, I think you provided a good explanation!
I don't think you were being judgmental, mama. Most people like to live and spend their time with people that share their same beliefs (I tend to be one who likes to see what the other side has to say!) and you weren't sure where I stood. And it's good to be concerned about who your family is going to be exposed to! We've had some candidates for the internship that I didn't really want around my family either!
