Craigslist usually has some listings locally... folks are getting 'wise' and charging a few bucks a sheet for it. Not a great deal actually. I automatically figure up the 'square' cost (100sq'). All the metal roofing outlets around here cover their bundles of metal roofing with 'seconds'... off colored sheets, or dimpled, etc. You can also buy the 'shade/shelter' seconds directly from them... very cheap.

Freecycle would be great...........if the people who had 'treasure' were aware of freecycle in the first place.

I've gotten hundreds of sheets of corrugated tin over the years, just by asking... old folks with falling down barns, folks remodeling ('prettyfying') their barns... I tear down the barn, get all the stuff, good and bad, and clean up the site completely.

Last year I was at our county refuse dumpster site... and a guy drove up with a barn's worth of mostly clean corrugated roofing. I asked the attendants if I could 'get it' (no scavenging at the reclamation center signs up everywhere)... YES!!!, so we unloaded straight out of his trailer directly into mine...

Dozens of abandoned chicken houses in this neck of the woods... several recently were 'put out' for scrounge... unfortunately I was too busy with paid work to spend the week acquiring a few thousand sheets. (some of these houses are a football field long).

I got two 24' round above ground pool liners from people throwing them away (put an ad on Craig's list for one and one was at the curb for garbage pickup). HEAVY duty, made two chicken tractors out of old trampolines (Craig's list. Wrapped the trampolines with wire and cut and put a piece of the pool liner on the top part of the trampoline (bounce part) for shade and rain protectiom. Have had two years, look just the same!
