We have built our retirement home in ga recently. Reseached all the Water heater options. I went tankless. It wasn't cheap, $693, however I got a great price on the unit online. Free shipping and no sales tax. We have it mounted in the attic. Its a whole house unit. I've tried to run out of hot water once (did it to see if I could, Guy thing). I ran three showers, dishwasher and two sinks full open for 10 min. Used my temp gun, nary a degree change. It has a dial to set the temp and it stays there. Its out of sight and takes up no room. Again it was expensive, but over a few years it will more than pay for itself. Being new constuction, it didn't cost anymore to install than a tank system. The one I bought is German made. Stiebel Eltron Tankless Water Heaters Whole House. Wouldn't have anything else.

We love it.....

We have had two, in two diff houses, one nat gas and now electric. We've had no problems. The trick is to size it maybe one step higher in capacity than recomended. We can take 2 showers at the same time with the washer running and doing dishes. It saves us a lot per month in electricity costs. We would NEVER go back to a tank type. Nica
