It is a game based on two basic concepts you can do one or both. One is to farm your land including seasonal plants and different types of animals. The other concept is to make another town member fall for you and raise a family. You can play as either a male or female. You can choose your plot in the hills on the beach or in the mountains. You can even buy more land (seeing a trend here?)
Kind of like Sims for the HT types.
Don't say I did not warn you if you get it. It is way too much fun to put down.
Oh, I'm so in.

On my PC I performed bizarre genetic experiments on my sims. One of them got so ugly after several generations of breeding that the face wouldn't even render properly anymore.

This sounds even more fun.

Harvest Moon

This game will soon be known as Harvest Moon: HT on the Wii.

I warn you all, it is something you will have to set a timer or risk playing for too long. I usually limit myself to a few days (in the game) at a time. That way, I don't play too long.

I dunno...we just don't use ours that much any more...the novelty of it wore off after about 2 or so months of having. We don't have many games...the sports ones that came with it and Tiger Woods, ohhhh and a hunting game. Maybe that's it, we need more variety?

We bought the Wii for the boys for Christmas last year and J got the Wii fit for his birthday. I love the Wii and it really is fun family entertainment. The boys pooled their money together from their birthdays and bought Rock Band 2 and all 4 of us can play together, 1 singing, 1 drumming, 1 playing bass guitar, and 1 playing guitar. It's a lot of fun! It gets used every day in our house and my boys have not developed an ugly attitude from playing it daily, even when they have to turn it off.
We have Wii Play and it's kinda fun...it has billiards, cow racing (that's very cute!), one where you have to pose to fit into a little bubble, a "where's Waldo" kind of thing, a fishing game and laser hockey. I've heard good things about Mario Cart, too. My favourites are the Wii Sports, Wii Play, Wii Fit and Rock Band 2.

The youngest is playing Tiger Woods Golf as I write. He has fun with it. He was playing a hunting game earlier. He is 18. Now I bought mario cart and it is collecting dust. I find it makes me extremely dizzy. I have been diagnoised Diabetic and now am using the fitness part. It is so cool. Tells your weight posture lots of stuff. Beats all the other fitness equipment I have brought home in the past. Buy the insurance as the controllers may be damaged if let go in full swing. We play bowling and tennis a lot. GO FOR IT

We are not big gamers, but we do like our Wii. I like that the 4 girls can play together at a time- with ages ranging from 5 to 16 it is sometimes hard to find something they can all do together. We are getting Wii resort for Christmas. It has volleyball on it and my dd really wants to do that. She plays volleyball and wants to do it in the winter. The game is way cheaper than club volleyball would be We also want the new Toy Story game. We love the ride at Disney and even though it wont be the same, we can pretend. We have Wii Fit on our list also.
We do enjoy playing soccer, tennis and bowling. I think it is a nice play activity when stuck inside.

I just got one off craigs list, and going to GIFT it to our girls (10 &12 in Nov) for their B days. So far we have gotten 4 games, and going to slowlly work on more... I have been sooo against it.. but Liking that it will get their " wiggles" out on "cold days" and plus we have had a VERY VERY rough year ( they lost their gram after long battle w cancer) sooo they deserve something this year... AND i managed to stay with at LEAST one game thats EDUCATIONAL!! LOL

I like to wii in the bushes at the end of my road in the middle of my 3 mile walk with my dogs. Like zong said, I prefer a clear uncloudy slightly yellowed stream. When we walk shorter distances in the winter if its snowed lightly, I usually hold my wii until we get back to the house and I write my name in the snow with a "Hi Mom!" greeting for my mother in the driveway if shes dropping her dog off for day care before work.

I think Wii excercise games are as wierd as stair steppers and excercycles. Riding a bike or taking the stairs does better health wise and saves money.

WIHH bought us the Homesteading collection of Wii games. I especially like the firewood harvesting game....it really gives me a workout with no mess to deal with when I'm finished. WIHH likes the canning game. SHe has canned over 250 quarts of virtual food!
