I think there are subscription services where you can watch them online about the same time the DVDs are released. I haven't looked into them since I can't watch them on dialup. But of course that isn't free anyhow. I'm not aware of any sites where you can legally watch or download new releases for free.

It's not illegal to watch... It's illegal to post. Very different.

By the way with copy rights the way they are today, everything is copy righted for 99 years. So even this post right here could be construed to be copy righted by chuck and me.

I've tried Blockbuster and I've tried Netflix. Still have Netflix. I think Netflix is far better than Blockbuster.

Yep I'm stuck with dialup for forseeable future. And yea, think new releases on net are a no-no anyway, not that it matters as few new movies appeal to me even for free.

I have the 2 movies a month for $5 from Netflix. If you have broadband you get couple more online with this plan... grrrr... not fair!!!!! It works for me most of year, but sometimes particularly in winter would like more movies. However they said if I ever change, i cant go back to present plan so they may not offer it anymore to new customers. When I first joined Netflix thought I'd only be member for like 6 months as couldnt imagine finding enough movies I hadnt seen to make it worth it. I was wrong. Discovered lot interesting independents and foreign films I'd never even heard of.

There are also those Redbox vending machines where you can rent a movie for $1. Dont think there is much selection, but might work for some.

I only go to town once a month unless emergency. Library only lets movies go out for 2 weeks with no renewals. Books can get renewed online so I can check them out and not be forced to make special trip to get them returned.
