DH and I are at a loss of what to do. Going to call the realtor tomorrow and ask them to find out what (if anything) the previous folks used out there.

We're moving to Turnersville (aka Buchanon Springs) TX... but it's a Gatesville, TX address.. if that helps anyone that may be near us.

Her name is Cassandra, and she deals in most of the satellite
brands. She is in Centerville, which may sound like too far off, but she is the closest registered dealer to you.

Tell her Shawn referred you.

Mallow, what where you looking at paying for a T1 line? We may have to go this route. We're 3.5 miles from town, apparently too from any relay station.

To get internet at my house I have to either go with dialup or satilate I don't have any options. I can wait for cable or cell phone service they only guarantee it will take a couple of decades.

DH is going to be telecommuting, so we *must* have something other than dialup or satellite.

After a long search we've finally found someone who provides wireless in the area, and the company can supply quite high speeds for business use, so we'll be calling them tomorrow and finding out if they can help us.

It sure has been quite a headache trying to get it all sorted out!

We looked at this. It costs thousands and thousands and they can't ensure that it will even work. The monthly charge can be many hundreds of dollars. For telecommuting, wireless is often forbidden. With my employer, at least, it is forbidden (due to security and speed issues).

Thanks, the T1 is definitely not an option for us then. Wireless is okay for DHs work, but not satellite (due to security & speed.)

Be sure to check out the wireless. My supervisor has tried it and she constantly gets kicked out. Does your hubby's employer use Citrix? If so, he'll likely get kicked out of the system.

Perhaps it was a config problem?

He's had to connect using Citrix in the past and has done so wirelessly without any problems. He uses a straight VPN now though, so not through Citrix.

When he's "on call" now he sometimes uses a wireless card to connect if we're away from home. He hasn't had any problems.
