If the Blazer has a working AC, turn it on, and blow the dehumidified air on the windshield. that will defrost it better than the heat would.
Other than that...try the Bars Leak.

Use Rain X on the outside and Fog-x on the inside

Or fix the thing.

I've replaced two or three over the years. I call around to find one at a local salvage yard, usually in the 25 dollar range, and replace it myself. My trucks have always been Fords.

I did look into helping a friend replace hers on a Jeep Cherokee and that turned into a nightmare because the dash did have to come apart.

Ok.. yesterday I went by a small shop where I buy my kerosene all winter..never realized they did auto repair..Great people...runs the hardware store in town also ( which is why iwas there in the first place)...Anyway.. they had me pull my blazer around to the back where there was this huge mechanics shop..did the bypass for free even refilled the antifreeze which i paid for even though he said not to....and they will do the heater core next month for 400.00 ..:banana02:

I keep telling Dh to stop dealing with those big chain repair shops...I think he gets it now.

Anyways.. thanks for all of ya'll's help..

I would take them some pie or cookies. That was really sweet of them.

Fixed mine cheaply once by adding "radiator stop leak" to the radiator. Worked fine for years

My S-10 pickup w/ out air took three hours the first time. You only needed to loosen 1/2 of the dash & I left the hardest screw out of the heater box cover. 6 years later it only took me 2 hours to do it again.

My neighbor is a 'tech' and he took 4 hours to replace the one in my '93 Jimmy as you need to pull the whole dash back to get the cover off the ones w/ A/C. In either case the new core was around $45.00 and they are ones that a rad shop could solder...

The heater core w/ A/C has longer pipes to reach past the A/C evaporator in the heater box.

$400.00 is a good price.

BTW your A/C comes on w/ the heat when you select defrost as it de-humidifies the air making the glas clear off faster.

Don't use the stop-leak as it can clog up somewhere and make things overheat...
