Who lives without electricity? Or has in the past?

Cyndi.....WOW. I read through a bunch of your blog entries.

Maybe you already think about this part, but people that do other people like you and yours got done.....they eventually get what they deserve. Once life is all said and done, they will have to answer to a higher power as to why they acted the way they did. Its a shame that some people in this world do others the way they do without a lick of remorse.

It does sound as though, as that door was closing.....the one that opened onto the new place you are at came at just the right time.

My grandparents spent most of their lives with no electricity, until they neared their 70s (1980s). I spend a fair bit of time at the place there, and while I loved it as a kid I always got the impression that everything was harder than it needed to be. When my parents eventually paid to have it installed it significantly improved their quality of life.

I think it's one thing to make an active choice to live off the grid, another if there is no choice but to get used to it.

Washing clothes seemed to be one of the things that really took up time, how are people coping with that?
