Dang!!!

My FPI is a mere 58 nowadays...I recently sold off one rifle and cut back years ago on others.

I DO need another pistol however,we only have one right now and that just isn't enough.

Mine's 98. I think as long as your IQ exceeds your FPI, you're good. I recently took a firearms safety course to qualify for a CCW and my instructor (who would remind you of Ted Knight on the Mary Tyler Moore show) has 99 firearms. He told his wife he would quit after one more purchase...yeah right. I probably have more than I truly need, but I'll never have more than I'll want.

How can you have more than you need?
I forgot about a Bersa Thunder 380 in the bottom of the gun cabinate, so I can add 7
415
I might run upstairs after while and see what's up there.
It may be that I have a problem........

I included Gleanerl's too

Oh, my DH would be sooo jealous of you! He's only got a 22 semi-auto Ruger pistol, 9mm S&W pistol, a brand new 20 gauge shotgun he just had to have and is still in the box 2 years later, a real nice Browing .308 rifle, 2 .22's, the old reliable 30-30 and a 12 gauge. He loves to look at gun shops, but alas we have no money for "extra" guns ever.

His current passion is to find me a .22 or .38 special revolver, which I want, but I like my goats, so most of our extra money goes to the goats - goats can make me money, are cute, cuddly, make money. Kinda hard to to scratch a revolver behind the ears or get babies or milk outta it! But then again, revolvers don't eat. Hmmm....

If you guys get to add your wife's, that means I get to add my husband's. Can I include the "grandbabies" that DS has left for me to babysit? He lives in GA now and did not want to keep them in the place he was renting.

This could add up, I have a thing for tube fed .22's and they hold quite a bit, but that will get offset by my double barrels . . .

This is sort of like figuring your cylindar quotient. I'll have to wait until I get home, there is no way I can do this from memory.

Heck, I'm sitting at home today and I still keep missing some.
I found a program that you can download for free that's very good for cataloging and keeping track of your guns.
Good for insurance purposes or just keeping track.
I only have a half dozen put in, but I'll work on it.

Mine's 281, but sure I'm forgetting something.

I went to a gunshow this weekend... several orphans wanted to come home. A DPMS .308 had some mighty lonesome eyes... but 'she' couldn't tell me if she was the new gal that takes DPMS or HK mags. I ended up filling in the recommended amount of extra clips for all my rifles.

Of course, I probably will have a tragic boating accident tomorrow, in a lake, far far away, and lose them......

Handgun FPI = 107

Longrifle FPI = 281

Maybe I need to get out my Texas Instruments TI-83 graphing calculator, and do a recount??

Do we get extra points, if some of the weapons have bayonets???? This 'Gun Happy' Marine would like to know??

I also have several of the tubular magazine .22LR semi-auto rifles also..

Plus, I have the ammunition in many extra magazines, and stripper clips to keep them going a while!!!!!

I might go to a gunshow soon and look for another .357 magnum revolver, with a 4" barrel..

I got home and got busy in the garden and forgot about this. I mentioned it to my husband as I'd need his help unless I wanted to go open the safes and load everything up. He asked if "one in the pipe" counted, or if you counted it if the gun came with two magazines. Sounds like he's trying to "up" his count.

He also asked about the AR, as his is custom and did not come with any magazine, though he now has a variety he can use.

Hubby has a detailed list on a spreadsheet of our firearms. He has when, where and for how much on all the purchases, and wether it is mine, his or son's (as we store some of them for him).

He also has scanned copies of all the reciepts. He's a reloader, so I guess his desire for lots of details on the firearms is good.

I know I my FPI is well over my age, as my gross count is almost my age LOL!! (and that is NOT counting Hubby's guns).

Ya know, there is something to be said about keeping the number of calibers a person needs to a minimum. For instance, all of our semi pistols and revolvers use the same caliber round....45acp. If I decide to start reloading some day, I'll only have to buy one die and such for our handguns.

Now, if I wanted to buy a rifle that shoots .45acp, the only one I can think of is a Tommy gun. Are there other rifles that are chambered for .45acp?

Hey, if a do get a Tommy gun with a drum magazine, that will raise my FPI by 50 points!!!

Cabin Fever, be real wary of that reloading thing. My husband started out feeling the way you do - but then something changed. . .

Now I'm sure he keeps looking for guns in calibers he does not already own as an excuse to go out and buy more reloading equipment and supplies. And then it's "well, since I have the die set might as well get a few more of this caliber" and it never ends.

And of course, you have to develop loads for each firearm - but for my DH, that is most of the fun of reloading.

Ahhh, no thanks...that's too science fiction looking for me.

The ones below are more my style. A nice Thompson submachine gun...in semi-auto, of course...would look nice in my collection.

Well, I'm 26 years old, and my FPI is 81. Of course, all of that was acquired within my first year of shooting, so I think that's a good start.

ok, finally got my FPI figured out. I get a 231. The strange this is so does my husband though we don't have the same number of guns. He has an AR though, I do not.

Then if we add son's we have a family FPI of 582.

Now that's a healthy FPI
