We've been under a heat advisory for days and have already hit triple digits. I'm already sick of it.

We've had an unusually wet and rainy Spring here in Oklahoma. It's starting to get hot, but just starting. Oh boy, sometimes it gets so miserable you just can hardly stand it.

it is 96 here right now...talking 104 tomorrow....been like this for about a week now and we got four inches of rain just before the heat moved in, so it is muggy... been in Arkansas for over 10 years now, a lot different than the 50 some years in northern Minnesota...looks like it will stay like this for a least another week and then warm up....mike

If you don't like hot weather -- what are you doing in Florida?

I was born here, lived here all my life, and all my family's here.

Like I said, 9 months out the year you can't beat it. The three months from late June to late September are tough to deal with, though.

I worry about driving places in this kind of heat. Due to DH's health issues, he's been told by his doctors to avoid extreme heat and cold. I'm to the age where I don't take the heat too well either. If we were to have car trouble of any kind, the heat would be unbearable. Needless to say, we're staying home a lot right now.

i wish it was hot here in NJ it's 66 today and we had hail last week it has not hit a high 80 all summer so far
Pssst! Summer only started yesterday.

We've had a lovely spring, somewhat cool, adequate rainfall, first cut of hay has come off already. We're in for a hot, sticky week ahead though, low 80's - which is more than hot enough for me! You'll never see me in Florida.

I can take the cold much better than the heat - I can always put on another sweater, have a hot drink and put another log on the fire. If it's too hot, and I'm down to my skivvies . . . . We don't have AC in the house, or any of the vehicles. We do have ceiling fans, and when it gets miserable, we turn on the furnace fan which brings cooler air up out of the basement. That has the added benefit of drying out the basement, so it's not so clammy.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, just rub it in.

We'll be lucky if it gets down to 77 tonight.

I just have to keep reminding myself of the blizzards, white-outs, and ice storms I saw those pictures of back in January and February.
We went from really mild spring temps and tons of rain to - still too much rain and extremely hot temperatures. We've had 4 inches of rain in 4-5 days and the heat's cranked up out there! Heat indices are in the triple digits and... I'm once again confined to the house (similar to winter).

The first hot day we had, our AC wasn't working. Seems an asian beetle (like a ladybug) broke the contact out in the AC unit. Those dang things. They did that to our well pump too - broke the contact in the switch at the power pole... TWICE!

I'm seriously considering dragging out the kiddie pool from the barn and filling it with water so I can plop in it when I need to cool down. Bad thing is the dogs seem to think it's for THEM when I do that! Geesh, they have the creek and the pond they can use.

Next time you are coming up here, let me know, we ought to meet up after all these years of you finally moving to VT!

It rocketed all the way to 54 here today. We have had a pretty good spring and summer so far with about 15 or 16 sunny days..twice what we had all year last year.

We had flash flooding this morning. DH said the highway was blocked with hay bales floating by at one point. But our garden sure is loving it. All the direct seeding is coming up and jumping up tall. We should have a good late summer/fall harvest. It was muggy and humid this afternoon, but has cooled off tonight. We haven't really had any hot weather yet and I'm not complaining.

It happens every year so I get used to it. I try not to turn on the A/C until 90°. I've talked to people who have already said it's too hot, and I don't feel it yet, which is very weird since I usually can't take the heat.
