People said using them for salt and pepper. I don't see why you couldn't use them for a home-made spice rack? Perhaps you could nail the lids to a piece of wood in a way that you would pull down to pull off the canisters. Then just lable the cans with what spice is in them.

fill them with dryer lint and give them to the boyscouts or girlscouts as fire starters for camping trips. i keep one in my tackle box incase i need a fire while fishing.

Lots of good idea's here but sometimes you just gotta get rid of the clutter. You can't save everything 'just in case'

A geocacher put out 125 caches last week. The caches we've found so far are micros in film canisters.
