We alway called it "American" and the "English" system Imperial.
Just different enough to drive me crazy. ( ok a little crazier ).

Well there is SAE and USS.

SAE is the coarse thread pitch & USS is the finer thread

If it is not metric, then it is non metric. If you are referring to mechanical things then it is SAE, the Society of Automotive Engineering.

I only refer to SAE when talking tools, along with metric. I will keep both, as during the 80's we had both shoved down our throats daily. I refer to them as metric measure and US measure, simple and sweet.

Il agree wiht that. I prefer th eamrican measuring system because I was riased with it, but the metric system is so uniform, its much easier if you kinow it.
