Oh man, it was so bad when we'd brush our teeth, we're talking gag city! Bleck. I'm very happy we got ours in a lot better shape!

Let us know what you find out.

My inlaws have a sulphur-y well, and their tubs and sinks are all stained. It smells bad, and tastes bad too. They don't mind, but I can't stand to drink it. They have a water softener, which helps with the water staining and lets them use a lot less soap in the washer and shower. And they turned up their hot water heater to help with the smell in the house.

That's one of the few things I couldn't tolerate in my home - smelly, sulfuric water.

iron content and hydrogen sulfide are unrelated thought its completely possible to have both.

you can have your water tested for other impurities or just treat the smell/taste.

the simple solution is to purge the well now and then by dropping chlorine down it, letting it sit then flushing for a while.

a more permanent solution is a manganese green sand water purifier that recharges with potasium permanganate, or a water softener with a KDF-85 media insert.

both of those will eliminate the sulfide smell.

I know because I had to find the solution for my own water

best prices i found were through http://www.ohiopurewaterco.com - they have excelent customer service and will happily figure out the right solution for you if you call them, they never try to sell you something you don't need or want.
