Two words: QUALITY CONTROL

That is where the $$$ is, a good high standard of quality control will ensure a good product most of the time. That does NOT mean "automation" that means adhering to a good standard of production, and refuse to ship out sub-par goods! This is where USA made goods excel, yeah you can build things cheaper in Asia with no Quality(Japan the exception), but if the quality control isn't there, it's just...cheap.

A lot of hand tools from Menards, are quite worthless.

I purchased the "professional" "GB" (Gardner Betts?) 6" needle nose pliers for electrical wiring work. The jaw tips were actually bent before the end of the first day.

Moved to Craftsman Pro pliers, which seem much better.

Same goes for the SAE sizes. Pair them up with a decent ratchet and they do ok.


And a tool that should be added to the "must-have" list: a pair of 9" Klein's. Nobody does them better...
