If you release it near my place you will find it back in a heartbeat. I hate it when other problems that people should take care of is shoved off on me.

This might help if you want to release it...

Releasing Unwanted Skunks from a Cage (a.k.a. Live) Trap

http://icwdm.org/wildlife/skunk/skunkrelease.asp

Has photos, step by step instructions.... mostly for people who accidentally caught a skunk in a live trap.

I know all states have different laws, but in many places catch and relocate is illegal, and this is for a reason.

A skunk will walk a mile in less than
ten minutes.
Is that the ones with or without roller skates?

Simple. Take the cage somewhere near water and open it up. The skunk will just leave and live to eat up snails, slugs, rats and mice. Then correct how you are putting out the cat food in the barn. You can put it up where the cats can get it but a skunk cannot.

WADR, Lilandra, cats need a certain amount of taurine not found in dog food or if it is there is not enough of it. cats who are fed dog food instead of cat food will eventually go blind http://cats.about.com/od/catfoodfaqs...oodforcats.htm HTH!

not if they are catching mice - or all ferals would go blind.

and i want to point out releasing wild anamals is also a crime here in wis , you may only relocate if it is to private property and you have owners consent

don't dump your problems on others
