Certainly.

This is more fun, though. And, wheat is also beautifull to look at, and dying daffodil foliage is not.

I am making a smaller garden than I used to. I am currently working to get it up to size again, I am not as strong as I used to be. I have not regretted turning one unused side into daffodils, and not I am adding the spring wheat to follow the daffodils, and I am putting in a row of alfalfa that will stay for years and give me greens for the chickens.

With the help of the daffodils and wheat and alfalfa and some weed barriers under the vegetables, I MIGHT get the garden up to full size again!

We shall see.....

I commend you on trying to grow wheat. But would like to let you know of a better option. Show up at a local farmers field with a 5 gallon butcket or 2 and a $5 bill in your pocket or something to barter with when they start to harvest. You'll end up with more wheat than you can handle.

I used to do this with beans. Had one old farmer that I would trade a couple of bottles of homemade wine with every year for a bushel of beans. I always just showed up when I saw them start harvesting. Missed one year due to illness and the farmer showed up at my place after harvest because he wanted the wine. They were drinking it as an end of harvest celebration every year and the wine had become a tradition.
